Neolithic in Moià
The cave of Toll de Moià is an interesting geological phenomenon. It was formed by the pressure of water filtering through the limestone walls, giving rise to two galleries: the South Gallery, occupied by prehistoric man; and the East Gallery, under which a subterranean river flows according to the seasons.
The cave harbours some of the richest examples of Quaternary fauna in Europe during the Würm glaciation, as well as hints of human presence as early as the Palaeolithic and, in greater measure, the Neolithic.
